Welcome!
I'm so glad you've stopped by! I'm not the "usual" life coach.
For most of my life I've been in & around the world of first responders. Jailers, 911 dispatchers, police, paramedics - these are my people, my brothers & sisters.
I know all too well how difficult it can be to talk with others that are outside these professions. For all their good intentions, most folks just cannot fathom the situations we endure or the deep effects they have on us or the way we operate in the world.
I understand you because I was you.
I understand where you're coming from. I will take the time to really LISTEN to you and HEAR what you're saying. More importantly, I will pay attention to what you're not saying.
No matter if you're wanting to improve upon your current position as a first responder, get better at professional/personal communication, or pursue a different avenue altogether, I can help you!
Make an appointment with me today and we will work together to bring clarity and direction to your life & your goals.
A Simple Bio
I was born and raised in a classic Midwestern small town. My parents divorced when I was very young. Luckily, along with my mom and dad, I was surrounded by grandparents, aunts, and uncles that loved me and looked after me. My family deeply instilled in me the values of integrity, hard work, patience and accountability for my decisions. I moved to Colorado in 2020 to chase my dreams.
Prior to my big move, I served my community as a Correctional Officer for 20 years in Illinois' capitol city of Springfield. In that field, I learned how to diffuse intense situations, use words instead of violence, and understand that people tell you a lot of information without saying anything at all. I honed my perception of verbal and non-verbal cues to a razor's edge. That career showed me things that no one should see. But it also blessed me with a deeper understanding of the complexities of the human mind and human behaviors.
I have a deep love of reading, questioning, and lifelong learning. I don't believe you're ever "done". Through the years, I've learned to listen to my gut. My intuition is right more often than I used to like to admit. Now I consider it to be one of my strengths. These skills, along with persistence and a sharp sense of humor have helped me so much throughout my life and in building my coaching practice.
So What is Coaching Anyway??
Coaching can come in many forms. From generalized life coaches to financial, health, family, or business coaches, there's a coach out there to help with a wide variety of issues. My desire to focus on life transitions of all kinds has come from my own experiences over the years. I don't make big changes all the time, but when I do, they're whoppers!
Coaching is meant to help you find the answers within yourself. YOU know what's best for you and your life. I will not tell you what to do. I will not diagnose you. I am not a medical professional. I will simply help you focus, form reachable goals, and make your way toward the life you're wanting!
